FoxSports speculates about WBC Qualifier Sites in Australia, Panama, Mexico and Brooklyn

Jon Paul Morosi of FoxSports might have revealed the sites and dates for the Qualifiers for the 2017 World Baseball Classic. He reports on Thursday that Sydney (Australia), Mexicali (Mexico) and Panama City (Panama) will host qualifiers in February 2016. Australia, Mexico and Panama each were ranked fourth in their first-round group in 2013 and therefore need to re-qualify.

The fourth location would be Brooklyn, New York with the qualifier being played in September of 2016. In 2012 Regensburg (Germany), Jupiter (Florida), Panama City (Panama) and New Taipei City (Taiwan) hosted Qualifiers in September and November. An official announcement should be expected in the coming days.

Earlier this week the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) and World Baseball Classic Inc. (WBC) announced via press release that the 2017 World Baseball Classic once again will serve as Baseball World Championship. The Dominican Republic is the defending champion.
