FORTITUDO used 18 hits to produce eleven runs en route to an easy 11-1 victory against the RANGERS on Saturday afternoon. Claudio Liverziani and Stefano Landuzzi (3-4, 3 RBI) hit homeruns. Richard Austin was three-for-three with a walk. Ryner Bautista and Juan Angrisano each drove in two.
Cody Cillo picked up the win after allowing six hits, one run and a walk in six innings. Matteo Bertoldi was charged with twelve hits, six runs and a base on balls in four-plus innings.

BOLOGNA completed the sweep of REDIPUGLIA with an 8-0 shutout in the night cap of the twin bill on Saturday. Claudio Liverziani was three-for-four with a walk, a solo-homerun, three runs scored and three RBI. Richard Austin drove in two.
Matteo D’Angelo allowed three hits in five innings, while striking out five in the win. Andrea Cossar took the loss after giving up nine hits, seven runs (6 ER) and three bb in 4 2/3 innings.

GROSSETO won game two of their series with GODO 5-3. Jorge Nunez and Gabriele Ermini scored the game-winning runs in the fifth and eighth frame on a RBI fielder’s choice by Raul Marval and a successful squeeze bunt by Lorenzo Avagnina. Mike Lockwood (GOD) had tied the game in the fourth with a solo-homerun.
Earlier the day MONTEPASCHI had to overcome a 0-2 deficit with three runs in the third on a two-run single by Davide Dallospedale and a RBI single by Jairo Ramos. DE ANGELIS had taken the lead in the top of the first on a RBI single by David Skrehot and a RBI double by Danilo Sanchez.
Chris Cooper received the win after 5 1/3 solid innings. He allowed five hits, three runs and two walks. Michael Nisco had problems with his control and took the loss. He gave up three hits, four runs and seven bb in four-plus periods.

Despite smacking out 21 hits, GROSSETO had to work hard to accomplish the series win with an 11-7 victory on Saturday evening. They blew a 4-2 lead after sixth, by giving up a five-run spot in the top of the seventh. However they answered right away and regained the advantage through seven runs in the bottom of the same period.
Raul Marval had five hits in five at bats, driving in two runs for the ORIOLES. Davide Dallospedale also reached five times after going four-for-four with a walk and two runs scored. Andrea Sgnaolin had four hits too. He drove in three. Danilo Sanchez and David Skrehot combined for five RBI for DE ANGELIS.
Luca Panerati (GRO) allowed six hits, four runs and three bb in 6 1/3 innings. Lino Luciani (GOD) gave up nine hits, four runs and three walks in four innings. Emiliano Ginanneschi received the win, Matteo Galeotti the loss.
Cariparma – Danesi Nettuno 3-9

NETTUNO scored five runs in the first period on their way to a 9-3 victory in PARMA. Vincent Parisi and Carlos Duran each drove in two runs. Ramon Tavarez, Igor Schiavetti and Leonardo Mazzanti each reached home twice.
Leonardo Zileri (PAR) was three-for-three with a walk, two runs and a RBI.
Giovanni Carrara (W) gave up five hits, two runs (1 ER) and two walks in five innings. Michael Jared Natale (L) was charged with ten hits, eight runs and three bb in six innings.

NETTUNO completed the series win against CARIPARMA with a 13-2 romp over seven innings on Saturday evening. They took the lead in the fourth through seven runs and didn’t stop scoring till the end. Giuseppe Mazzanti, Vincent Parisi (3 RBI) and Carlos Duran (3 RBI) punched pitches over the fence for a homerun. Eleven batters of DANESI had at least a hit in the game.
Carlos Richetti struck out seven in six solid innings, allowing four hits, one unearned run and two walks. Roberto Corradini lost his groove in the fourth and took the loss after giving up seven hits, seven runs and two bb in 3 1/3 innings.

SAN MARINO moved into a tie for third place in the standings of the Italian Baseball League after completing the sweep against RIMINI on Saturday with a 5-3 victory. They decided the outcome in the top of the eighth, taking a 4-3 lead on RBI singles by David Sheldon and Francesco Imperali. James Buccheri added an insurance run in the top of the ninth with a solo shot. Filippo Crociati had put TELEMARKET up 3-1 with a two-run single in the bottom of the fourth. But they could not score anymore afterwards.
Matteo Tonellato (SMA) allowed four hits, three runs (2 ER) and four walks in five innings. Sandy Patrone (RIM) was responsible for four hits, two runs (1 ER) and three bb in six innings. Luca Martignoni picked up the win after three innings of relief. Michele Quattrini took the loss.
