New format unveiled for Challenge de France

The French Baseball & Softball Federation Executive Committee unveils a new format for the Challenge de France. Exit the traditional round robin which is to be replaced by a modified double-elimination bracket. Winners of each pool will advance to the final game and compete for a spot at the European Cup.

The Federation aim is to avoid games with no real interest during the pools and strengthen the level and the interest of the competition.

The 2013 edition, which will mark the 10th anniversary of the Challenge, is to be played at the Pershing Stadium in Paris from May the 9th to the 12th. It will feature the 7 Division 1 ballclub’s : running champion Rouen Huskies, Sénart Templiers, Beaucaire Chevaliers, Montpellier Barracudas, Stade Toulousain Baseball, Savigny-sur-Orge Lions, host Paris UC and the French national U18 team representing the Pole France Rouen & Toulouse.
