The format for the 2017 season in the Italian Softball League is set. The participating teams and the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation met this weekend. 13 teams will be playing in the ISL this summer, split into a pool of six and a pool of seven teams.
• Group A: Bollate, Caronno, Collecchio, Legnano, Nuoro, Saronno
• Group B: Bussolengo, Castellana, Forlì, Old Parma, Pianoro, Roma, Sestese
The regular season will be played from April 22 to July 30, interrupted by the tournament of the Republic from June 2 to 4 in Caronno and the Women’s European Softball Championship in Bollate from June 24 to July 2. The championships series is scheduled for September 23 to October 1.
The Coppa Italia will be played ahead of the ISL season. The teams have been split into four pools, which will play a preliminary round on April 1/2 and April 8/9. The Final Four then will be played on the Easter weekend in the Parma region. Groups for the Coppa Italia have been set as follows:
• Group A: Saronno, Legnano, Old Parma, Collecchio.
• Group B: Bollate, Caronno, Nuoro.
• Group C: Bussolengo, Thunders Castellana, Blue Girls Pianoro.
• Group D: Forlì, Pro Roma, Sestese.
