Shortstop Daniel Gonzalez of the Pirates was named MVP of the five-day tournament. San Marino’s shortstop Tony Granato was the best batter, going .583 (OBP .630/SLG 1.083) with two homeruns, three triples, eleven runs scored and seven RBI in five games. The best pitcher trophy went to Dushan Ruzic of DOOR Neptunus, somewhat a consolation prize for the host after finishing in fourth. The Australian had a 1-0 record with an ERA of 0.00, giving up nine hits, two unearned runs and five walks in 14 innings. He struck out seven.
