The new executive council of the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation (FIBS) held their first meeting after the elections on Wednesday and making the first decisions under new president Andrea Marcon. Fabrizio De Robbio and Vincenzo Mignola will serve as new first and second vice presidents.
Additionally with elections coming up at the European Softball Federation and the Confederation of European Baseball early next year, Daniela Castellani and Marco Mannucci were nominated to enter the elections as candidates for vice presidents at ESF and CEB.
Meanwhile on the field, Italy will be represented by national teams at the Women’s Softball European Championship in Bollate, the U16 Women’s Softball European Championship in Ostrava, the U15 Baseball European Championship in Wiener Neustadt and the U12 Baseball European Championship in Utrecht.
Marco Mazzieri got confirmed to manage Italy through the 2017 World Baseball Classic. At the youth level in Italy U12, U15, U18 and U21 national championships will be played next year. On an administrative side the traditional Gala of Diamonds, which included award ceremonies for the recent season won’t be organized this year.
