The weather improved and all three scheduled games were played on day four at the Federations Cup Qualifier at Farnham Park on Friday. The Sofia Blues were big winners, picking up a pair of victories, improving to 2-1 for the event. The London Mets split their doubleheader. The preliminary phase ends on Saturday. The Borgerhout Squirrels, which were off on Friday, are already set for the finals.

Sofia Blues (BUL) – Atletico Alexandria (ROM) 6-4

The Sofia Blues scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to turn a 2-4 deficit into a 6-4 win over Atletico Alexandria. Four errors by the Atletico defense helped heavily during the rally. Petre Grouev and Vladimir Markov scored twice for the Bulgarian club. Evgenii Chernozemsky pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief for the win. Catalin Lazar got charged with the loss.

London Mets (GBR) – Sofia Blues (BUL) 11-13

The Sofia Blues stayed on the field, as their make-up game against the London Mets followed immediately after. Sofia scored nine runs to take a 12-0 lead midway through the second and then watched London almost erasing the deficit in a 13-11 victory. Petre Grouev scored three times. Vladimir Markov drove in three for Sofia. Conrad Cornell went 4-for-6 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored for London. Koya Iwasaki conceded ten hits, seven runs and three walks in six innings for the win. Evgenii Chernozemsky closed it out for the save. Sam Sproule surrendered seven hits, nine runs (7 ER) and two base on balls in one-plus innings for the loss.

MKS Stal Kutno (POL) – London Mets (GBR) 4-7

The London Mets had a quick turnaround, facing MKS Stal Kutno in the evening game. They rebounded from the loss in the afternoon and prevailed 7-4. The Mets took a quick 4-2 lead after three innings and added a couple of insurance runs to seal the win. Tyson Walker allowed seven hits, four runs (2 ER) and two base on balls in seven innings for the win. He struck out 11. Conrad Cornell pitched the last two frames for the save. Krzysztof Piotrowski conceded seven hits, five runs and four base on balls in six innings to take the loss.
