The Federations Cup Qualifier at Farnham Park in Great Britain continued with two games of the preliminary round on Wednesday. In the afternoon MKS Stal Kutno beat the Sofia Blues. Afterwards the Borgerhout Squirrels prevailed over Atletico Alexandria.

Sofia Blues (BUL) – MKS Stal Kutno (POL) 5-10

MKS Stal Kutno picked up their second win in as many games, as they defeated the Sofia Blues 10-5. Seven runs in the second blew the game open quickly. Artur Wojtczak did it all for the Polish club. He pitched nine innings, allowing seven hits, five runs (2 ER) and five walks, while striking out 13. At the plate he went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a RBI. Beshkov took the loss, conceding 11 hits, nine runs (1 ER) and three base on balls in six innings.

Borgerhout Squirrels (BEL) – Atletico Alexandria (ROM) 12-2 (7)

The Borgerhout Squirrels earned their second win with a 12-2 victory over Atletico Alexandria in the second game on Wednesday. After Alexandria scored twice in the top of first, Borgerhout scored in five of the following seven innings and celebrated an easy win. Yannick Gontier went 4-for-4 with a double, a run and a RBI. Sam Boermans drove in three. M. De Permentier pitched five solid innings for the win, allowing five hits, two runs and six walks. George Bela got charged with the loss, giving up ten hits, ten runs (9 ER) and seven base on balls in five innings.
