FC Barcelona announces 2011 Roster, last Signing

Posted on February 12, 2011 by philipp

Two weeks before starting into the 2011 season in the Spanish Division de Honor with a road matchup against the Astros Valencia, the FC Barcelona has announced the roster for the upcoming season. Their last addition is Cuban outfielder Cole Yanco Rancoll. He is 25 years old and from Isla de la Juventud. He had to switch to the outfield in Cuba, as great players like Michel Enrique blocked him on his natural position at third base. He will join Felix Isasi, Rafael Llames and Jorge Santana in the Barca outfield.

Also new on the team in comparison to 2010 are Jorge Balboa, Ricardo Hernandez, Jose Luis Riera, Jose Luis Salazar and Pau Sancho. The pitching staff of the FC Barcelona is formed by Jason Friedman, Oscar Jimenez, Balboa, Jonatan Garcia, Hernandez and Andres Gimeno. Hernandez and Balboa are replacing Delio Miguel Martinez and Pedro Pablo Belmonte on the staff. They will throw to catchers Salazar and Jordi Juaneda.

Infielders Riera, Emmanuel Febles, Oscar Angulo, Jesus Golindano, Sancho and Jose Carreras complete the roster of the FC Barcelona. Friedman, Hernandez, Angulo, Golindano and Rancoll take up the foreign player spots. The team will be led by a coaching staff, consisting of manager Aldo Tarife and assistant coaches Yunior Guerrero, Carlos Rymer and Jorge Miqueleiz.
