The supplier of temporary infrastructures for events, trade fairs and exhibitions Nussli has begun to install the temporary grandstands at the Baseball World Cup venue Armin Wolf Arena in Regensburg, Germany. An extra 9,000 seats will be built in the next couple of days to raise the capacity of the ballpark to about 10,000 seats. The company will install the structure, volunteers will install the seats itself, starting on August 22.
The local organizing committee said that they already have sold 18,000 tickets for the six games and expect up to 40,000 for the preliminary round pool E with Team USA, Germany, Venezuela and China. The four teams battle for second-round tickets from September 9th to 12th. Prague (CZE), Barcelona (ESP), Sundbyberg (SWE) and Zagreb (CRO) also will host first-round groups. The second round will be played in the Netherlands and Italy, while the finals will go on solely in Italy. The championship game is scheduled for September 27 in Nettuno.
