European WBC and National Team Players in Majors and Minors through August 13

Here’s the season stats from WBC or past European national team players who aren’t included in the European-developed list…
Please note any players who are missing who have played for a European national team – our dear readers want to know.

Italy
Anthony Rizzo (CHC)                     The Chicago Cubs (MLB) first baseman has 18 HR and 32 doubles. He’s hitting .234/.325/.434.

Chris Denorfia (SD)                        Playing regularly in all 3 outfield spots for the San Diego Padres (MLB), he’s hitting .264/.324/.387, with 9 home runs and 7/7 in stolen bases.

Chris Colabello (MIN)                    .215/.295/.380 for Minnesota Twins (MLB) in 79 at bats.

Pat Venditte (NYY)                         Working his way through the Yankees system on rehab assignment, he’s 0-2, 3.12 ERA in 17 innings for three teams. He’ll make his next appearance for the Trenton Thunder (AA).

Tyler LaTorre (SF)                           Has hit .209 in 43 at bats for the Richmond Flying Squirrels (AA).

Mike Costanzo (CIN)                     After playing most of the season in Triple-A, he’s hitting .265/.356/.412 in the last month for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (AA) in his new organization.

Tim Crabbe (CIN)                            6-8, 3.44 ERA, 32 BB,  91 K in 128 IP with  Pensacola Blue Wahoos (AA).

Netherlands
Andrelton Simmons (ATL)           .239/.283/.357, 60 R, 11 HR, 40 RBI, 5/9 SB for Atlanta Braves (MLB). Seen as one of the top defensive shortstops in the world.

Jurickson Profar (TEX)                   .245/.310/.342 with Texas Rangers (MLB). Has started regularly for the league-leading Rangers in the past few weeks, appearing in LF, 3B, SS, 2B, and DH.

Xander Bogaerts (BOS)                Season is split evenly between the Portland Sea Dogs (AA) and now the Pawtucket Red Sox (AAA). .302/.391/.482 overall with 43 extra base hits. One of the top minor league prospects in baseball.

Jonathan Schoop (BAL)                                .251/.297/.397 with Norfolk Tides (AAA). He’s hitting .282 overall when his 11 games of rehab in the low minors are included.

Hainley Statia (MIL)                       .244/.356/.327 with  Nashville Sounds (AAA), playing shortstop.

Jair Jurrjens (DET)                           6-6, 4.18 ERA, 24 BB, 52 K in 94 IP with Toledo Mud Hens (AAA).

Shairon Martis (MIN)                    2-3, 4.19 ERA, 29 BB, 55 K in 70 IP of mostly long relief for Rochester Red Wings (AAA).

Shawn Zarraga (MIL)                     .325/.373/.407 in 123 AB with Huntsville Stars (AA). Currently on DL.

Juan Carlos Sulbaran (KC)            27 hits, 18 runs in 19 innings for Wilmington Blue Rocks (A) after 25 appearances for 3-4 record and 6.99 ERA with 28 BB and 26 K in 46 IP at Double-A.

Randolph Oduber (WAS)             .252/.310/.338, 13/20 SB with Potomac Nationals (A).

Dashenko Ricardo (LAD)                              .196 in 107 at bats across 3 levels, including 9 games with the Chattanooga Lookouts. Currently on the DL.

Sharlon Schoop (KC)                      Remains on the Disabled List, yet to appear in 2013.

Spencer Kieboom (WAS)             Remains on the Disabled List, yet to appear in 2013.

Spain
Engel Beltre (TEX)                           Another top minor league prospect, the center fielder is .302/.360/.405, 14/24 SB with Round Rock Express (AAA). Made his big league debut with the Rangers, batting .278/.297/.306 in 17 games with Texas.

Rhiner Cruz (HOU)                         5.71 ERA, 0-2, 2 saves in 31 G, 34.2 IP, 28 BB, 29 K with Oklahoma City Red Hawks (AAA).

Jesus Merchan (SD)                       .265/.313/.331 in 166 AB at third base with Tucson Padres (AAA).

Yanner Negrin (CHC)                     3-6, 4.59 ERA,  101 K, 28 BB in 86 innings with Iowa Cubs (AAA).

Richard Castillo (STL)                     7-7, 4.41 ERA, 33 BB, 56 K, 104.1 IP with Springfield Cardinals (AA).

Chris Manno (CIN)                         3-3, 3.96 ERA, 23 BB, 51 K in 52 IP for Pensacola Blue Wahoos (AA).

Adrian Nieto (WAS)                       .290/.374/.454, 36 extra base hits with Potomac Nationals (A).

Great Britain
Mike Nickeas (TOR)                       .163 in 50 games with Buffalo Bisons (AAA).

Michael Roth (LAA)                        3-3, 4.50 ERA in 64 innings for Arkansas Travelers (AA).

Chris Reed (LAD)                             3-9, 3.64 ERA, 52 BB, 91 K in 116 IP with  Chattanooga Lookouts (AA).

Steven Bumbry                (BAL)                    .233 for Bowie Baysox (AA), has been on DL since late June.

Jake Esch (MIA)                                               1-7, 4.33 ERA, 30 BB, 40 K in 72 IP for Jupiter Hammerheads (A).

Chris Berset (CIN)                           8 hits and 4 walks in his first 8 games for Pensacola Blue Wahoos (AA). His first 43 games were in A-ball – he’s .250/.347/.393 overall.

Germany
Matt Weaver (ATL)                        .207/.279/.289  in 77 games with Lynchburg Hillcats (A).

Aaron Altherr (PHI)                        .266/.322/.452, 10 HR, 18/22 SB in 106 games with Clearwater Threshers (A).

Czech Republic
Alex Sogard (HOU)                         15 innings & 3 saves for Corpus Cristi Hooks (AA). Previously threw 23 innings in Triple-A with a 9.39 ERA.

Mike Cervenak (DET)                     .296/.332/.411 for Toledo Mudhens (AAA). 28 R, 5 HR and 14 doubles, 32 RBI in 63 games.
