According to a newspaper article from two weeks ago the Taiwan based Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) is bringing back the Asia Winter Baseball League at the end of this year. According to the article besides players from the CPBL, Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) and Korea Baseball Organisation (KBO), a team called Europe united is supposed to participate. Additionally the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) is named as one of the organizers.
The five-team league is supposed to play 40 games during the regular season and six in the playoffs between November 28 and December 22. It’s the second time that Taiwan is trying to host a winter league. They already started in 2012, but stopped it in 2014. Taiwan hosted the U12 Baseball World Cup in July and will be one of the co-hosts of the inaugural Premier 12 tournament in November.
