CB Sant Boi – Heidenheim Heidekoepfe 2-6
On Friday the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe defeated CB Sant Boi 6-2 for their first win three games. Martin Almstetter (W) pitched seven strong innings for the win. Peter Dankerl went 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI at the plate and also pitched two scoreless innings of relief. Michael Weigl scored twice. Rafael Rivas reached base four times for the Spanish champion. Ruben Fente (L) surrendered six runs (3 ER) on eleven hits to take the loss.
Hoboken Pioneers – Unipol Bologna 4-8
Juan Carlos Infante collected three hits and three RBI to lead Unipol Bologna to an 8-4 victory over the Hoboken Pioneers. Fabio Betto (W) allowed seven hits, four runs and a walk in 6 2/3 innings. Tom Lorrentop (L) was charged with seven hits, three runs and two bb in five innings. Dennis Ribbens drove in two for the Pioneers.
L&D Amsterdam Pirates – North Stars Moscow 7-1
L&D Amsterdam celebrated its third win in the third game with a 7-1 over the North Stars Moscow on Friday. Four runs in the fifth blew things wide open. Percy Isenia crossed the plate twice and drove in two. Frank van Heijst (W) conceded five hits, an unearned run and a walk in 7 2/3 innings, striking out eight. Evgeny Vorotyntsev (L) gave up four hits, six runs (4 ER) and six bb in five innings.
