European Cup 2026: Day 1

Posted on June 2, 2026June 3, 2026 by Gabriel Fidler

Diving Ducks Wiener Neustadt won a slugfest as hosts of the European Cup, with Sweden’s Rättvik Butchers and Switzerland’s Therwil Flyers also producing offensive outburts on Day One in the event. The European Cup is new this year, and slots in as the second-highest cup in the WBSC Europe system, and the third tier overall for European club baseball. For more, consult our introduction here [link].

The European Cup will be played this year with a pair of four-team pools. The top two teams from each group will meet for the semifinals, with first in one group playing the second-ranked in the other and vice versa. It is the highest tier that a British baseball team has ever reached, with the British Baseball Federation represented by the London Mets, winners of the last nine National Baseball League playoffs.
