Posted on July 11, 2014 by philipp

Day three at the European Championship Juveniles U12 in Ljubljana, Slovenia was hindered by rain. Only two of the planned three games were played. The match between the Czech Republic and Russia was moved to Friday morning with the semi-finals being played afterwards.

In game one on Thursday France shut out the previously unbeaten team from Belarus 20-0. Gary Gilbert and Mathias Lacombe combined for three no-hit innings on the mound. Axel Patarata went 3-for-4 with a triple, four runs scored and three RBI. Salim Krentner drove in four.

In the second game Lithuania edged out Austria 10-9. After a wild pitched tied the game in the bottom of the seventh, Lithuania plated the game-winner on a RBI fielder’s choice by Andrius Jonaitis. Austria out-hit Lithuania 10-4 in the contest and led 9-7 going into the bottom half of the last inning.
