Only one of the two scheduled games at the European Championship C-Pool in Miejska Gorka, Poland was finished on day three of the tournament on Wednesday. Hungary won the morning game 5-4 against Georgia for their first win in the C-Pool Euros. The second game between Poland and Romania got suspended with the score at 5-5 in the eighth inning. Following a lengthy injury delay officials on site decided to stop play on Wednesday. The game resumes play on Thursday at 9.30am.
Georgia – Hungary 4-5
In the morning game Hungary won a nail-biter 5-4 over Georgia. Hungary erased an early 0-2 deficit, extended the lead up to 5-2 in the eighth and then held off a rallying Georgian team. Andras Csallo scored twice for Hungary. Denes Simonyi collected three hits. Patrik Nenezic gave up four hits, three runs (1 ER) and four base on balls in seven-plus innings to receive the win. Tornika Nikolashvili got charged with eight hits, five runs (3 ER) and five walks in nine innings to take the loss.
