Day two at the European Championship C-Pool in Miejska Gorka, Poland on Tuesday featured two more games from the first round. In game one of the day Estonia prevailed over Hungary to improve to 2-0 in the event. In the early evening contest Georgia shocked Romania. All games from Miejska Gorka are available on YouTube. Hungary – Estonia 2-3
Estonia celebrated a 3-2 win over Hungary. Estonia took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth, when Kevin Kiil scored through a wild pitch. They extended the advantage to 3-0 with a two-run home run by Matti Emery in the seventh. Afterwards Hungary cut the deficit to a run with a two-run single by Daniel Erdelyi. However they weren’t able to complete a comeback despite a couple of scoring opportunities in the end. Kristjan Ojasaar conceded two unearned runs on eight hits in a complete game win. Csaba Goor surrendered six hits, three runs (2 ER) and five base on balls in nine innings to take the loss.
Romania – Georgia 6-9
In the early evening game in Miejska Gorka, the team from Georgia beat Romania 9-6. Georgia took a quick 4-0 lead after two frames and after Romania had tied the contest until the end of the fifth, they added five more runs in the last three frames to seal the victory. Levan Gobejishvili drove in three runs. Levan Telia, Luka Gakhokidze and Shota Gvalia crossed the plate twice. Andrei Serbanescu had three hits for Romania. Otar Aivazashvili allowed nine hits, four runs (1 ER) and a walk in seven innings for the win. Andrei Adumitrachioaie took the loss in relief after Iulian Serban had kept Romania in the game with 4 2/3 innings of scoreless innings.
