After four unsuccessful tries Austria finally won a European Championship B-Pool with a 12-2 win over Israel in the final of the tournament in Belgrade, Serbia on Saturday. However since the winners of this year’s B-Pool Euros have to play a series next year Austria still is not guaranteed a spot in the A-Pool.
In the final against Israel Christian Tomsich cruised through seven innings for his second victory of the week. Ferdinand Obed and Mo Hackl paced the offense with home runs and seven combined RBI. Shlomo Lipitz took the loss for Israel.
