The Rouen Huskies and ASD Rimini are joining Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam and Unipol Bologna in the semi-final of the 2018 European Champions Cup in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Rouen prevailed 6-2 over the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe on Friday morning. Yoann Vaugelade kept Heidenheim in check through eight-plus innings. The Heidekoepfe had the bases loaded with one out in the ninth, but Kender Villegas put the water on the fire and cleaned it up with two strikeouts.
Rimini meanwhile edged out L&D Amsterdam 3-2. Two runs in the fourth and one in the eighth made the difference. Luis Ustariz went deep for Rimini, while Rodney Daal did for the Dutch vice champion. Logan Duran struck out nine in seven innings for the win. Rob Cordemans got charged with the loss. In the other games on Friday T&A San Marino won a high-scoring affair 12-11 against Draci Brno. Curacao Neptunus came back from a 0-4 deficit to beat Bologna 5-4. Quintin De Cuba had the game-winning hit with a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh.
