Baseball America has published a list of the Minor League Free Agents. You can follow their status through the Minor League Free Agent Tracker on their website. Among the free agents there are also a couple of European players.
- 27-year-old The Hague native Kalian Sams was a free agent. The outfielder revealed to Mister-Baseball.com this weekend at the European Big League Tour in Rotterdam that he remains with the Texas Rangers organization, where he had finished his turbulent season in affiliated ball. He just had returned home from a stint in the Liga Mexicana del Pacifico. In pro ball he was batting .270/.385/.577 with 18 home runs and 49 RBI in 75 games this year.
- 25-year-old Breda native Tom Stuifbergen spent his whole career with the Minnesota Twins. He missed all of 2008 with an injury and is once again sidelined after having Tommy John elbow surgery in early August. He went 5-4 with an ERA of 4.53 in 19 games (14 starts) between Fort Myers and New Britain prior to his injury.
- 26-year-old Willemstad native Sharlon Schoop missed the whole 2013 season with an injury. The Dutch infielder became a free agent at the end of the year. After seven seasons with the San Francisco Giants he had joined the Kansas City Royals in 2012. He has a .256/.322/.353 batting line in his minor league career.
- 29-year-old Oss native Loek van Mil had joined the Cincinnati Reds organization for the 2013 season. Splitting time between Double-A and Triple-A the tall right-handed reliever had a curious and unfortunate 0-10 record with an ERA of 3.52 in 51 games. He struck out 34 and walked 30 in 64 innings. He is currently in Japan, trying out for the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks of Nippon Professional Baseball.
