The Netherlands improved to 3-1 in the Europe/Africa Olympic Baseball Qualifier 2019 with a 7-1 win over South Africa on Saturday afternoon in Bologna. Sharlon Schoop homered and drove in two runs. Yurendell De Caster and Ademar Rifaela added two RBI apiece. Roger Bernadina and Kalian Sams scored two runs each. Hein Robb scored the lone run for South Africa, which remained winless in four games. Mike Bolsenbroek earned the win with three perfect innings of relief. Dean Jacobs took the loss.
