In the continuation of Wednesday’s suspended game between Italy and South Africa, Italy prevailed 10-4 on Friday morning. The team of manager Gilberto Gerali scored six runs in the top of the tenth inning to break a 4-4 tie, which stood since the fourth inning. Federico Celli had the big hit during the rally with a three-run home run. Alberto Mineo also homered in the game. Hein Robb had two RBI for South Africa. Jonathan Phillips collected three hits. Matteo Bocchi earned the win. Bradley Erasmus took the loss. The game got suspended in the top of the sixth inning on Wednesday with the game tied at 4-4 due to rain. Both teams will play another full game on Friday.
