Israel continues its path towards the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with a 3-0 win over Spain in their first game of the Europe/Africa Olympic Baseball Qualifier. On Wednesday evening in Bologna Danny Valencia hit a two-run home run in the first and drove in all three runs. Meanwhile Joey Wagman threw a three-hit complete game shutout, striking out eight. Carlos Sierra got charged with the loss for Spain, issuing five hits, three runs and two base on balls in 4 1/3 innings.
