DAY 1 RECAP: 2015 MLB EUROPEAN ALL STARS OPEN WITH MERCY RULE VICTORY 15-0 IN USA BASEBALL NATIONAL TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS EAST TOURNAMENT (JUNE 17, 2015)

The European U18 All Star team opened the USA Baseball National Team Championships in Jupiter, Florida with a dominating 15-0 win in four innings. The team comprised of the top talent from Europe and eight different countries pounded out 15 runs on 16 hits in the mercy rule contest.
Boyd Tuhumury collected the first hit and scored the first run for the EU All Stars. He finished with two hits on the day. Dutch teammates Oliver van der Weijst Severino, Max Draijer, and Menno Lenting also had two hits each, as did Bor Starc of Slovenia and Marek Chlup of the Czech Republic. Draijer blasted the team’s first home run in the fourth inning. Fred Walter of France added a triple and two runs scored.
Sascha Koch of Germany pitched three solid innings as the starter with nine strikeouts to earn the win. Timo van Lingen of the Netherlands pitched one inning in relief.
The EU All Stars play a double header versus Team Citius Perez and MPi 17U on June 18th.
