After drawing the groups for the Women’s and U16 European Championships during the ESF Congress in Belgrade in early February, the European Softball Federations altered the groups following a series of withdrawals during a TC Clinic in Rome, Italy this past weekend.
At the Women’s Softball European Championship, which will be held from June 25 to July 1 in Bollate, Italy, Slovenia, Finland and Serbia withdrew, forcing the ESF to go from eight pools during the first round to four.
At the U16 Softball European Championship, which will be held from July 10 to 15 in Ostrava, Czech Republic, Croatia and Lithuania withdrew their participation. It only had one consequence for one team. France was moved from Pool A to Pool D.
