One of the highly regarded young players in German Baseball is joining the new champion. The 19-year-old infielder/outfielder Enzo Muschik is leaving the Mainz Athletics to play for the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg. The A’s confirmed the transfer in a press release on Monday afternoon. Muschik debuted in the southern division of the Baseball-Bundesliga in 2007 and since then has appeared in 35 regular season games at the top level in Germany, batting .207 (OBP .261/SLG .295). During the 2010 playdowns he went 9-for-23 with two doubles, ten runs scored and six RBI in seven games. He also was part of the 2009 and 2010 European Player Showcases, traveling to the United States in the fall.
