Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez will be back with Solingen Alligators in 2008

Posted on December 18, 2007 by philipp

The 2006 German champion Solingen Alligators announced on Monday, that starting pitcher Enorbel MARQUEZ-RAMIREZ would be back next year. There was some interest from other teams around Europe to sign the Cuban-born hurler. But he decided to stay in Solingen.

MARQUEZ-RAMIREZ was handicapped by a knee-injury in 2007. Nevertheless when he was on the mound he dominated as usual. He had a 7-1 record and a 1.21 ERA during the regular season. He struck out 60 in 52 innings. At the European championship in Barcelona he won his three starts for Germany with an ERA of 1.20. Two months later he impressed against Venezuela and Australia (ERA 3.21), despite two losses.
