Two undefeated teams met today in the morning session in Trnava, Slovakia. And the 150 people, who attended the game did not get disappointed, as they saw a pitchers duel decided in the tenth period. A passed ball brought Andrei Apostoaei home to lead Romania to a 1-0 victory against the Ukraine. Apostoaei had led of the frame with a double. It was the only extra base hit of the day.
The two starters Mihai Burlea (W 1-0) and Oleksandr Trofimenko both went the distance and put zeros on the board till the first extra inning. Burlea struck out 13 and allowed just two hits and a walk in ten innings. He threw 130 pitches in the win. Trofimenko matched him nearly pitch for pitch, striking out eleven, while giving up four hits, one run and a base on balls. He also needed 130 pitches to complete the game.

Hungary scored four runs in the first en route to a 10-0 shutout against Finland. Andras Jano and Jozsef Ando both drove in two runs. Gyorgy Nemeth had three hits, including a double.
Peter Luptak (W 1-0) allowed just one hit in five innings for the win. He struck out two. Janne Vartiainen (L 0-1) gave up seven hits, ten runs (6 ER) and seven bb in seven innings. He got nine strikeouts.
