It was the lone European Championship Qualifier where a third finals game was needed. But in the end the favorite prevailed. Great Britain defeated Israel 5-2 in the decisive third match of the finals on Friday to secure a spot in the 2012 European Championship. Israel had tied the series with a 7-0 shutout earlier in the day. But the fact that Shiomo Lipetz only can throw a certain amount of pitches helped the British team in the end. Great Britain’s Aeden McQueary-Ennis was named MVP, his teammate Aaron Hornostaj Best Batter and Lipetz Best Pitcher.
