Serbia is already under pressure after two game days at the Qualifier in Karlovac. They lost 2-7 against Lithuania on Tuesday. The Baltic team took the lead in the fourth on Vytautas Kirlys’ (3-4, 2 RBI) RBI single and added five more in the sixth and seventh period. Ramunas Santares was two-for-four with a triple, three runs scored and two RBI. Tomas Jankoitis also tripled and had two RBI.
Aivaras Jacyna (W 1-0) struck out nine in 7 2/3 solid innings for the win. He gave up seven hits, two runs (1 ER) and a walk. Vlastimir Arandelovic (L 0-1) was charged with five hits, five runs (3 ER) and five base on balls in six innings.
Israel – Croatia 1-6

Ernesto Pereira (W 1-0) struck out 20 batters to lead Croatia to a 6-1 victory against Israel. He threw a complete game, allowing four hits, one run and four walks. His offense waited till the seventh to provide him with the necessary run support, but got the job done anyway. Jason Pospishil reached four times, scoring twice and driving in a run. Slobodan Gales, Josip Brozinic and Romeil Agladius also had RBIs. Oren Gal had two hits and a RBI for Israel.
Alon Leishman (L 0-1) struck out nine in eight innings. He gave up six hits, three runs (2 ER) and five bb.
