Perez was able to silence the powerful bats of the Spanish champion, allowing just three hits and two walks in a 109-pitch complete game. He struck out six.
PUERTO CRUZ’ starting pitcher Leslie Nacar (L 0-1) was dominant as well, striking out 15 in eight innings. He gave up two unearned runs on four hits and four base on balls, while throwing a whopping 151 pitches. Three innings later Boris Marche reached with a leadoff walk, advanced to second on a sac bunt and scored, when center fielder Alejandro Martinez dropped a fly ball by David Gauthier.
The TENERIFE offense never put more than one runner on base and had absolutely no chance to come back against Perez. Both teams will play another game on Wednesday, ROUEN takes on L&D AMSTERDAM at 13:30 CET, the MARLINS face DANESI NETTUNO at 18:00 CET.
