Right-hander Harry Glynne led the Untouchables Paderborn to a 2-0 shutout over Draci Brno at the European Cup in Barcelona, Spain on Wednesday afternoon. He went the distance and issued just five hits and three walks, while striking out nine and throwing 134 pitches.
The U’s scored once in the first and once in the fifth to decide the outcome. Matt Martin crossed the plate in the first on a RBI single by Bjoern Schonlau. Tristan Gerdtommarkotten reached home on a groundout by Marcel Schulz.
Zachary Samuels was nearly as good as Glynne, conceding just four hits, two runs and three walks in eight frames, but still ended up with the loss. Petr Minarik closed it out.
