Germany also won its second game of the tournament, defeating the Czech team 6-2 on Saturday evening in Stuttgart. They scored five runs in the first three innings against Boris Bokaj (L 0-1), who settled in afterwards allowing just one more run. He kept things close and the team of Arnost Nesnal closed the deficit to four runs thanks to a two-run homerun by Tomas Polansky in the eighth.

Dominik Wulf hit a leadoff homerun for Germany in the third. Klaus Hopfensperger went 2-for-3 with a double. On the mound Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez (W 1-0) wasn’t dominant, but still kept the Czech offense off the board, allowing seven hits and two walks in seven scoreless innings. He struck out eight. Eugen Heilmann came in and gave up a double and a homerun, but settled down and finished the game by striking out five of the last seven batters.
