Raily Legito and Dwayne Kemp hit homeruns and combined for four RBI as the Dutch team shut out Greece 10-0 in eight innings on Friday in Heidenheim. It was their sixth win in the sixth game for the defending champion. They are now 3-0 in the final round with the game against Sweden in the evening coming up. Eugene Kingsale walked and scored three times, while the Netherlands put runs on the board in seven of the eight innings. Danny Rombley, Bryan Engelhardt and Sidney de Jong drove in two each.
Rob Cordemans (W 2-0) wasn’t as sharp as in his first start, when he combined with Dave Draijer to no-hit France. He allowed seven hits and four walks in six innings, but kept the scoreboard clean. He struck out six. Constantinos Kapothanasis (L 1-2) surrendered nine hits, seven runs (6 ER) and a base on balls in six innings, one day after pitching in relief against Germany.
