The EBCA is proud to announce the addition of a new Award, starting this Fall.
The new trophy will be called “Bill Arce Award”, from the name of one of the most infuencual persons for baseball development in Europe over the last 60 years.
It will reward a person who is making a strong impact on baseball development in his country or even better, at the European scale.
The EBCA already had 2 Awards in place.
- The EBCA Career Achievement Award that celebrates a persons who has achieved a lot for baseball over the length of its career.
- The EBCA Coach of the Year that celebrates the coach who has accomplished the most impressive achievements over the past 12 months.
EBCA felt that there was a void to fill to honor the coaches who are working in the shadow but are truly crucial for the sport.
For this new Award, the public will submit names of candidates to our staff.
From that list, 3 names will be selected for the final vote.
There will be a poll on social media (30%), a poll among our membership (35%) and a poll on the EBCA staff (35%).
Also, the Coach of the year Award selection process will follow the same path.
As soon as today, you can nominate one person for the Career Achievement Award (voted among EBCA staff only), one person for the Coach of the Year Award and one person for the Bill Arce Award, by e-mail ( info(at)baseball-in-europe.com ), with a short description of the achivements or reasons why the candidate, in your view, deserves to be nominated.
