Dutch Semis: Rain continues to play Havoc to Kinheim and Amsterdam

Posted on August 30, 2010 by philipp

After Saturday’s game had to be canceled altogether and Sunday’s affair was suspended in the top of the fourth with Amsterdam leading 7-0 after a seven-run rally in the second, rain also caused a cancelation on Monday. Corendon Kinheim and L&D Amsterdam will now make another try on Tuesday evening to conclude the semi-final series. The Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) surprised us a little with the announcement that game four will not replayed from the beginning, but where it stopped on Sunday. With the 7-0 advantage in the game and a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series, the Pirates should be en route to the Holland Series, which is scheduled to start on Saturday in Rotterdam.

Schedule Hoofdklasse Semi-Finals:
Tuesday, August 31:
19:45 Corendon Kinheim – L&D Amsterdam Pirates (Pirates leading 7-0 in top of 4th)
Wednesday, September 1:
19:45 L&D Amsterdam Pirates – Corendon Kinheim*
*if necessary

Results Hoofdklasse Semi-Finals:
DOOR Neptunus – Konica Minolta Pioniers 1-0 (11)
Corendon Kinheim – L&D Amsterdam Pirates 1-4
Konica Minolta Pioniers – DOOR Neptunus 0-3
L&D Amsterdam Pirates – Corendon Kinheim 7-8
DOOR Neptunus – Konica Minolta Pioniers 8-0
Corendon Kinheim – L&D Amsterdam Pirates 4-6
(DOOR Neptunus sweeps series 3-0, L&D Amsterdam leads 2-1)
