Dutch RHP Tom de Blok signs with Seattle Mariners

17-year-old Dutch right-handed pitcher Tom de Blok has signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners. The hurler from L&D Amsterdam got signed out of this year’s MLB European Academy in Regensburg, which will get concluded next weekend. He also played in the MLB Academies Tournament in Tirrenia and in the European 18U Championship in Prague earlier this year. According to the report by Honkbalsite.com he will go to Arizona in September for the Instructional League and then come back for Spring Training in February. He will become the third current Dutch pitcher with the Mariners organization besides Lars Huijer and Scott Ronnenbergh.
