The Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) has released a practice roster for the 2014, which will start working out at the new baseball and softball complex in Hoofddorp. The main event for the Netherlands will be the European Championship, where they hope to get back on top after Italy captured two consecutive titles.
Head coach Steve Janssen nominated 27 players for the practice squad, which also includes two newcomers with Sedley Karel (Vaessen Pioniers) and Remco Draijer (L&D Amsterdam) according to the report by Honkbalsite.com. It also includes Dashenko Ricardo, who recently got released by the Los Angeles Dodgers and joined Corendon Kinheim for the upcoming season.
In preparation of the European Championship the Netherlands is going to play in the Haarlem Baseball Week in July and in an international tournament in Paris, France against France, Belgium and a Japanese semi-pro team in early September. For the European Championship they will add Minor League players, which are not on the 40-man MLB rosters.
