The semi-final series in the Dutch Hoofdklasse continued on Saturday afternoon with games two. DOOR NEPTUNUS crushed CORENDON KINHEIM in Haarlem 9-1 and leads the series 2-0. They already can book a Holland Series ticket with a victory at home on Sunday.
In the other matchup, KONICA MINOLTA PIONIERS won 2-1 against L&D AMSTERDAM. The winning run came on a walk off RBI single by Mark-Jan Moorman in the bottom of the ninth. Glenn Romney had led off the frame with a triple. He also had tied the game in the sixth with a sac fly, plating Norbert Lokhorst. The PIRATES led since a Sidney de Jong run in the second. Roger Kops went the distance to pick up the win. Jos de Jong (AMS) opposed him at the start and struck out eight in 5 1/3 innings, allowing four hits, one unearned run and three walks. Nick Stuifbergen took the loss.
