The Dutch Hoofdklasse continues on Thursday evening with four games, opening a new set of three-game series. The focus in Rotterdam will be on the derby between Sparta/Feyenoord and DOOR Neptunus. Defending Neptunus is dominating the league right now, leading the standings with a 19-1 record, while out-scoring their opponents 143-42. They are the only team with a batting average above .300 (.304) and an ERA below 2.00 (1.51). Sparta/Feyenoord on the other hand is in sixth place right now, one game behind fourth. They are batting .240 (fifth in Hoofdklasse) and have an ERA of 4.10 (sixth).
With the European Cup coming up for DOOR Neptunus and the Konica Minolta Pioniers their Sunday games were re-scheduled for Friday evening, so they can rest a little before next week’s tournaments. The Pioniers take on Mr. Cocker HCAW in a battle for third. Second-ranked Corendon Kinheim faces the Almere Magpies. L&D Amsterdam hopes to get back to .500 against ADO. As usually live play by play will be available on KNBSB-Stats.nl.
