The Dutch Hoofdklasse semifinal round robin continued on Tuesday evening with two more make-up dates. Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam overcame an 0-8 deficit to beat the Hoofddorp Pioniers 13-8. Curacao Neptunus scored seven runs in the seventh and six in the eighth to complete the comeback. Gregory Muller tied the game with a RBI single. Gianison Boekhoudt and Dwayne Kemp followed with a two-run single and a three-run home run. Dudley Leonora had three RBI for the Pioniers.
Meanwhile L&D Amsterdam won an extra-inning thriller 9-8 over HCAW. HCAW erased a 3-7 deficit with four runs in the bottom of the eighth to force extra innings. In the tenth a wild pitch allowed Amsterdam to score two runs. HCAW answered in the bottom half of the frame, but wasn’t able to come back again. Dylan Koster drove in four for the team from Bussum. Nick Urbanus went deep for the Pirates.
L&D Amsterdam and Curacao Neptunus are already qualified for the Holland Series. Prior to the championship finals however they will meet in a three-game series to round up the semifinal round robin in the Dutch Hoofdklasse this coming weekend.
