In the Dutch Hoofdklasse three games were played on Saturday afternoon. L&D Amsterdam improved to 5-0 with a 9-6 win over Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam. Four runs in the top of the ninth inning broke a 5-5 tie en route to the victory. Remco Draijer and Zerzinho Croes had two RBI each. Gilmer Lampe collected three hits. Gianison Boekhoudt had two RBI for Rotterdam. Daan Hendrix earned the win in relief. Berry van Driel got charged with the loss.
DSS beat the De Glaskoning Twins in a football-like score of 23-11. The game was even shorted to seven innings due to the ten-run rule. DSS won the contest with ten runs in the bottom half of the last frame. Djewi Appelman had six RBI, three through a three-run walk-off home run. He also scored four times. Two more players had four RBI for the team from Haarlem. Mick Molenaar went deep for the Twins. DSS had 20 hits in total, Oosterhout 14. Both teams combined for five errors.
HCAW shut out Pickles UVV 4-0. After six scoreless innings, a three-run seventh got the team from Bussum into victory’s lane. Kaj Timmermans issued ten hits in seven innings, but kept the scoreboard clean to pick up the win. Jurjen van Zijl took the loss after 6 1/3 innings.
