Three games were scheduled in the Dutch Hoofdklasse on Thursday evening. DSS beat De Glaskoning Twins 7-5 in an away game at their home stadium in Haarlem. Three runs in the top of the sixth broke a 4-4 tie en route to the win. Jordan Illis drove in three runs.
HCAW downed Pickles UVV 7-1. It was a close game until the team from Bussum scored five runs between the sixth and the eighth. Kevin Dirksen went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Jim Ploeger pitched six scoreless innings for the win. Timo van Ancum got charged with the loss.
L&D Amsterdam welcomed Curacao Neptunus in the 2017 season with a 5-1 defeat. Rob Cordemans kept the reigning champion scoreless in five four-hit innings. Kalian Sams homered and scored twice. Danny Rombley had two RBI. Ruar Verkerk accounted for the lone run for Rotterdam. Diegomar Markwell took the loss.
