Sidney DE JONG brought the Dutch team on the board with a solo-homerun in the fourth. Roel ROOLEN (2-4, 2 SB) followed to build up the lead through a broken bat RBI-single into center field.
Sharnol ADRIANA added another run on a solo-shot into the bleachers in left field in the fifth. Vince ROOI made it 5-1 with a two-run-single in the seventh.
Yong Kyu CHOI hit a solo-homerun for Korea in the fifth.
Leon BOYD (W 1-0) gave up six hits, a run and one base on balls in six innings. He struck out five. Loek VAN MIEL closed out the game with a nine-out-save.
Seung Ho LEE (L 1-1) allowed three runs on four hits and two walks in 4 2/3 innings. He struck out eleven.
