Four games were scheduled in the Dutch Hoofdklasse on Thursday. The big surprise occurred at Family Stadium in Rotterdam, where DSS shocked reigning champion Curacao Neptunus with a 4-3 win. Three runs in the top of the seventh turned a 1-3 deficit into a one-run lead. Gijs Timmer, Max Ploegstra and Kevin Geestman then combined to keep Curacao Neptunus from coming back. A bases loaded walk by Melvin Perdue pushed the winning run over the plate.
L&D Amsterdam solidified first place in the standings with an 8-2 win over the De Glaskoning Twins. The Pirates took a quick 5-2 lead after three frames and added a couple of insurance runs afterwards to seal the victory. Jesse Aussems and Kenny Berkenbosch scored twice. Kevin Heijstek pitched seven innings for the win. Ben van Nuffel got charged with the loss.
Kinheim won a slugfest 15-9 against Pickles UVV. Kinheim erased a 1-8 deficit in the process. UVV had scored six runs in the second and two in the third for an early and commanding lead. However Kinheim scored four runs in the fourth and sixth, as well as three in the fifth and the seventh. Jasper Keijzer and Julio Hernandez drove in three runs each for Kinheim. Nick Veltkamp earned the win in relief. Kevin van Veen took the loss.
