According to a post on the Euro League Baseball (ELB) website, reigning Czech champion Draci Brno used the opportunity at the European Cup in Rotterdam to join the European Association of Professional Baseball (EAPB).
Manager Arnost Nesnal and President Igor Kratochvil talked to ELPB President Wim van den Hurk about infrastructure and format of the Euro League Baseball with the result of Draci Brno signing the EAPB application to become a member. Van den Hurk is going to travel to France on Friday to talk to other prospective members of the EAPB.
The EAPB was founded on May 8, 2015 with the goal to start a professional Euro League Baseball in April of 2016. Initially eight teams from Italy (Bologna), San Marino (San Marino), Netherlands (Rotterdam, Hoofddorp), Germany (Regensburg, Heidenheim) and France (Rouen, Senart) were invited. The idea is to play four games per week from Monday to Thursday besides participating in domestic leagues. Logistics are supposed to be financed by a league sponsor.
