Draci Brno trying to defend Dynasty against Arrows Ostrava

Posted on October 10, 2008 by philipp

The first weekend of the Czech Baseball Finals between AVG DRACI BRNO and ARROWS OSTRAVA was dominated by pitching. In game one, Radek Prochaczka won a pitcher’s duel against Jon Jon Robles and DRACI won 1-0. However the ARROWS came back behind Boris Bokaj’s gem in the second match and tied the series 1-1.

This weekend the site switches to Ostrava, where the home team tries to beat the defending champion and winner of the last 13 Czech titles. The ARROWS are close to complete the surprise, as their pitching worked beautiful in the opening games of the series. Now only their offense needs to take off and they could celebrate the championship on Sunday. However a decisive fifth game on October 18th in Brno is more realistic and would be a fitting end to an interesting Extraleague season.

Results:
AVG Draci Brno – Arrows Ostrava 1-0
AVG Draci Brno – Arrows Ostrava 1-3

Schedule:
Saturday, October 11:
14:00 Arrows Ostrava – Draci Brno
Sunday, October 12:
14:00 Arrows Ostrava – Draci Brno
Saturday, October 18:
14:00 Draci Brno – Arrows Ostrava*
