The reigning Dutch Hoofdklasse champion DOOR Neptunus can break their own record tonight in a make-up game against the Almere Magpies. With their 6-1 victory over Almere on Sunday the team of head coach Steve Janssen equalized the mark of 18 straight regular season wins, set in 1989. Between June 9th and July 30th that year Neptunus concluded the regular season with 18 victories in a row. They then went on to sweep the best-of-seven semi-final series against Planeta Kinheim before losing the Holland Series 3-4 against the Opel Nicols. This season DOOR Neptunus only has lost one game in 29 games so far, on May 6th against the L&D Amsterdam Pirates.
