German outfielder Donald Lutz is returning to the Brisbane Bandits of the Australian Baseball League. It will be his second consecutive season with the Bandits and the third overall in the ABL. He also played for the Canberra Cavalry in the past. Last winter Lutz batted .272 with 26 RBI in 25 games for Brisbane. The 27-year-old Lutz who in 2013 became the first player developed in Germany to reach the big leagues with the Cincinnati Reds saw his second straight year cut short in the minors with the Cincinnati Reds due to an injury. He split time between Double-A and Triple-A this summer. He is currently a minor league free agent.
