Donald Lutz homers for third straight Day in ABL

German first baseman Donald Lutz homered for the third straight day, but his Canberra Cavalry still lost 9-16 to the Brisbane Bandits, which scored eleven of their 16 runs in the first two frames. Lutz had a two-run shot in the eighth and went 3-for-5 overall. Dutch shortstop Mariekson Gregorius scored twice. Nine different players drove in runs for the Bandits.

Two more games were played in the Australian Baseball League on Saturday. The Adelaide Bite overcame an early 0-2 deficit to beat the Melbourne Aces 9-2. Brandon Bantz hit a three-run homerun and drove in four. The Perth Heat also won game three of their series against the Sydney Blue Sox. 4-3 was the final score, as a Blue Sox rally in the eighth fell just short. Sydney dropped to second in the standings, while Perth is moving up the ladder. Adelaide is leading by half of a game.
